Summer Range Common Grackle distribution map

The Common Grackle’s summer range is largely dependent upon their breeding habits. The summer breeding range extends from British Columbia down to eastern New Mexico and over to the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts.

Winter Range

The Common Grackle’s main winter range extends southward from New England and Minnesota. It is not uncommon to see the Common Grackle in Ohio during the winter, but with the onset of spring their population will increase greatly as they return to their breeding grounds.
