Distribution

The Northern Spring Peeper is found throughout the state of Ohio wherever there is suitable habitat.
 
Winter Survival

During the winter the Northern Spring Peepers remain frozen underneath leaf litter, loose bark, or decaying logs. When spring arrives they thaw and emerge.

Seasonal Activity

The Northern Spring Peeper has a breeding season that ranges from February or March to October or November.

Habitat

The preferred habitat of the Spring Peeper is within swamps and moist woodlands. Spring Peepers favor remaining under the cover of dead leaves and undergrowth.
