Distribution

The Redbud is native to northeastern North America. In Ohio, the tree can be found in the southern two-thirds of the state. In the northern part of Ohio, it is not as abundant, but scattered throughout.

 

Habitat

The Eastern Redbud occurs in well-drained soils and in the understory of forests. The Redbud can be found on dry slopes and edges as well as moist valleys and open stands. They grows best with full sunlight and moist soil in a well-drained area but they can also grown well in partial shade.

Redbud's naturally occur in zones 5 to 9.
